| Well, Wire are playing tonight - not that you would know it. I have never known it so quiet on here. We've not even had a 'Squad for Leigh' thread. I'm sure a few people have drifted away from this site because of how user-unfriendly it has become. I'm equally sure that a lot of fans have just started to gradually lose interest in Wire or the sport in general in this country. To be honest, I'm one of them. How many neutrals would have bothered tuning in to watch Hull KR put 70 on Salford last night? Not me. I have not even bothered watching the past few Wire games. The weather was nice so I went out with my family instead. And with Wire having eight games left that are, let's be honest, dead rubbers, I don't see the situation improving any time soon. Maybe Wire will put in some great performances between now and the end of the season, rewarding the faithful and reigniting my interest a bit, but right now, everything just feels at a pretty low ebb, rugby-wise.

| Yeah I've noticed the same. A real shame. A decline in the standard of SL, our own teams performance and this shockingly poor message board is the perfect storm.
I have emailed RLFans.com a number of times about the coding glitches (one of the few websites I know where you cannot navigate effectively) but no reply. Either they can't fix it or can't be bothered. I hope one of our admins would be on the case but I think a number of our admins have given up too.

| Wires71:Despite what you read on Facebook from the eternally optimistic, it seems we are not alone in realising our season is over. The link is valid just this forum appends a html to the link (it's like a 5 minute fix). Just copy the URL and paste into your browser. Thanks for the IT advise, I would never have thought of that. It works too.

| I wasn't sure what to expect with the heading "Apathy in the UK" ... but it's to do with the "Wire Faithfull". There's not much doubt we are all a bit down regarding our current predicament. We will rise again and the rest of the UK should be fine.

| It does feel like people are walking away from the game. As a spectacle its really gone downhill from what it once was.
I used to absolutely love watching rugby league. I would watch all games that were on TV, no matter who was playing. Now i'm struggling to even muster the interest to watch a wire game.
The whole game just feels flat and uninteresting these days.

It does seem a bit of a coincidence that we are now in our second season of being able to watch "every game". Is it linked?

| I think it depends who you talk to. Both Hull clubs fans will be pretty engaged right now, KR especially (think they've sold every home game out stretching back ages) and FC are making a better fist of it. Wakey fans too will be buzzing - Leeds fans will be much more interested in how the season is unfurling and Cas fans probably feel there are better times round the corner. Us Saints and Catalan fans will certainly be deflated.
Hopefully a well attended ashes and a strong start to 2026 for all will put the marker down for an improved TV deal...

The site is not ideal and I have messaged them a few times about it and I have been patient but it’s been a long time now since it’s been up and does not look like getting better anytime soon. Regards the squad for xyz and match day thread I have been the one starting those for a fair old time now. Not done it this week for the first time I can remember because I have become so disillusioned with the club as a whole and rugby league generally with the appointment of Nigel Wood and the ongoing nonsense at Salford. Lot of players dropped out last night and now Chris Hill leaving with immediate effect to join a championship club. Owners and the RFL are totally responsible for this mess and it impacts on fans and some players.

Very true. I hope Hull KR can break the hegemony and win the title. I think the sport needs it, and they certainly deserve it. In fact the Hull KR turnaround has been nothing less than spectacular. Less than 3 years ago they finished 8th in the league with just 12 wins. Sound familiar? Shows you what is possible when you get the set up right.
