"Warrington isn’t just staring down another season of unmet expectations. It’s confronting the slow, public draining of its own ambition. Leaders don’t leave projects they believe in. They leave ones that feel hollow." "Worse, instead of forging a living identity that connects past, present, and future, the leadership has drifted into a no-man ’s-land — chasing IMG scorecards on one side, clinging to a contrived sense of ‘Northern Cool’ on the other. The result isn’t evolution. It’s erosion. A club caught between borrowed ideas and abandoned roots, with nothing authentic holding it together." https://mattyhenno.shorthandstories.com/winning-nothing-standing-for-less/index.html

I suspect the real problem is something the club won't say. They are more motivated by loyalty to individuals in the organisation than they are motivated to make ruthless decisions to bring in people who know how to win. This is a very interesting point, and I am not saying that you are wrong. Perhaps we are too nice as a club, and need to be more ruthless in various aspects of how we operate. What I would say, though, is that it's winning or losing that always shapes how fans view certain things. Last season, when we were doing relatively well, fans could easily put a positive spin on something like the Chambers appointment, for example. When the team is winning, it's viewed as "wise appointment, Warrington through and through, knows the club inside out". When the team is losing, it's "has no real experience, jobs for the boys, out of his depth". The same goes for loyalty. When we are winning, loyalty can be viewed as a positive, praiseworthy trait, whereas at the moment, with the awful season we are having, it is easy to regard it as a weakness instead.

| To repeat what I said above, nothing will change "culture" wise in our club until the board (especially the chairman and CEO) are moved on. CEO is an easy one, getting a new chairman may be a lot harder and in the "turkeys voting for Xmas" bucket in reality. I agree with the point above Re us being too nice as a club, happy clappy etc. We've changed the coaches, assistant coaches, recruitment guys, physios, sports science guys, players......changes further up the food chain are needed as we've literally won 1 trophy in 13 years so the runners-up mentality is obviously endemic.

| TBH that article read like a load of over complicated, irrelevant pseudo intellectual bollox to me but that's just my opinion.

To be fair I said " no real experience, jobs for the boys". At the time of his appointment because its true.

| I am looking forward to watching the Birmingham City documentary with Tom Brady (who became a minority shareholder in 2023). Those who follow the NFL will note he is a modern day legend of the game.
As Birmingham dropped out of the Championship to League 1 Brady apparently commented
"Well we've already changed the coach, so it's really the players because the coach doesn't go out there and put the ball in the goal," he says. "They were lazy, they were entitled and when you're lazy and entitled, you don't have much of a chance to succeed. "We've got to change all the people that are associated with losing, so I think this summer there's going to be a lot of people gone."
Last year Birmingham broke the Football League record for most points in a season, finishing top of League One.
I wonder what our shareholders will be saying at the end of 2025?
